En début de semaine, Bungie et Activision ont officiellement annoncé que Destiny serait développé sur PlayStation 3 et Xbox 360. Le 20 Février 2013, Jason Jones, co-fondateur de Bungie, a partagé un message simple avec les fans de la PlayStation à travers le monde: Destiny est actuellement en développement sur PlayStation 3 et PlayStation 4, avec les deux versions disponibles au lancement de Destiny.
Harold Ryan, président de Bungie a ajouté: "Destiny est en cours de développement sur PlayStation 3 et PlayStation 4, les deux versions seront disponibles au lancement de Destiny. Destiny proposera du contenu exclusif à la Playstation."
